Coolsat 8000 officially called as coolsat 8000 HD. Free to air receivers have been there across the country for quite some time now and coolsat has been on top of the list though out the era. Free to air as it’s called is not actually free. Customers in some cases have to pay for the channels which they use. FTA is of used for international broadcasting. Coolsat 8000 HD has a DVB/ ATSC Tuner which allows people to watch FTA, HD, FTA and Over the Air HD, which is done with the help of UHF HD Antenna. Unlike its predecessors it doesn’t have a USB drive. The main features of coolsat 8000 are its support for both MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 with ATSC only. Coolsat 8000 has both Digital Terrestrial that is ATSC and satellite set-top box that is TS combo.

Coolsat 8000 has multiple video outputs; they are S-Video, Ypbr, CVBS, RGB, and HDMI. Coolsat 8000 provides a 5.1 channel surround sound via optical wires. Coolsat 8000 doesn’t have USB drive and hence we can upgrade our software through RS-232. coolsat 8000 supports both DiSEqC 1.0 and DiSEqC 1.2 . Unlike other coolsat products, coolsat 8000 has a flash memory of 4 MB. It also has a DDR RAM of 128 MB. DDR RAM is latest and provides mush speed when compared to other type of RAM. Coolsat 8000 provides the best picture quality with high resolution at 1080i.

Coolsat also has the most reliable CPU in the market. Coolsat 8000 uses ATSC standards replacing the NTSC standard. Coolsat 8000 does not support HDTV users but also supports other types of users. Coolsat 8000 doesn’t require additional equipment. It supports AC-3 audio that is digital Dolby. Coolsat 8000 supports multiple video outputs for various formats. It supports 1080i, 720p and 480p format. As it doesn’t have USB drive we cannot plug in a flash drive. RS-232 cable comes along with coolsat 8000 thus enabling it to upgrade using this cable. Coolsat 8000 comes with 4*1 DiSEqC switch and free programming cable. Coolsat 8000 is the world’s first HD that is High Definition Free to air receiver.
