The goal of Conaxsat products is to bring a set-top box to the Free to Air community at an affordable price. The first in their range of offerings was the CNX-V1which offered PVR functionality, more advances EPG and was also USB upgradeable. The next in the range of Conaxsat products are the CNX-Duo and the CNX-Trio. Earlier it was impossible to think of recording your favorite shows while watching something else cause of the limited product capability. But now the CNX-Trio makes it a reality. This version of Conaxsat of a Multi-Media Player that can play most of the music and movie formats which reduces the necessity of conversion of formats. The recording of the videos are done in MPEG format to be played on the PC. The Conaxsat Duo sports a 32-bit ARM946 RISC Processor otherwise known as Virgo and while the CNX-Trio uses a 64-bit Processor that speeds up the working of the box so that waiting time is reduced. Some of the most important features of Conaxsat CNX-V1 are the ability to store and play MP3 and JPEG files using USB, channels can be selected and information about it can be viewed thanks to the Banner technology, the ability for parents to lock channels and installation setup from their children, large storage capacity of 5000 channels, and the ability to zoom the channels (2x, 3x, 4x). Some of the most important features of Conaxsat NX-Duo are its abilities to play the recorded files on the PC, it is compliant completely with MPEG-II Digital format, has the option of subtitle display which appeal to people from different countries, it can also convert automatically between PAL and NTSC, a Smart-Card reader that imparts additional functionality as also does the Universal Remote and the S-video output feature. The Conaxsat CNX-Trio on the other hand has all the features of the CNX-Duo with some added functionality which include the much appreciated Multi-Media Player which supports for simultaneous recording and viewing of channels. It is a Dual Core System with a 64-bit processor for added performance. The Conaxsat CNX-Trio also supports High Definition content – 480p, 720p and 1080i for impeccable picture quality. It also allows for photo album, music or movie playing when the recorder is functioning thanks to the Dual Core System capable of handling simultaneous work.
